Review of the Beats Fit Pro, which is similar to the AirPods Pro but has a different style and branding.

With its latest earbuds, the Beats Fit Pro, Beats (AAPL) is packing the heat. The Beats Fit Pro are the brand's greatest earbuds to date, and they're available for pre-order now for $199 and will ship on November 5. They include many of the same features as Apple's more expensive AirPods Pro ($249), such as enhanced sound drivers and active noise cancellation, as well as Apple's H1 chip for seamless switching between your iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

The Beats Fit Pro earbuds, unlike the AirPods Pro, aren't only created with Apple in mind. They're also very Android (GOOG, GOOGL) friendly, so as long as you use the Beats app, you can use them with any Android device. You'll be able to use features like an ear tip fit test to ensure you're wearing the correct changeable ear tips, switch between noise canceling and transparency mode easily, and tweak the buds controls.

For the past week, I've been using the Beats Fit Pro, and they've shown to be significantly more capable than Beats' Studio Buds ($149) and nearly as good as the AirPods Pro. The only drawbacks? The charging case is still bulky, the physical button is inconvenient, and they aren't AirPods.

A distinct appearance and improved fit

The Beats Fit Pro earbuds are similar to the Studio Buds, but they have a redesigned wing tip that helps them fit more securely in your ear. As a result, the Beats FIT Pro was born. If you like bright colors, you'll be pleased to learn that the Beats Fit Pro earphones are available in four different shades: black, grey, white, and purple. Purple was my choice.

The ear tips that come with the Beats Fit Pro are identical to those that come with the AirPods Pro and are just as comfy. Earbuds are tough to get the correct fit for me, as they are for most people. Apple's solutions, on the other hand, have consistently delivered the finest experience, even after hours of listening. The Fit Pro is much the same.

Furthermore, the Beats Fit Pro is put through the same kind of fit test as Apple's AirPods Pro, so you can make sure you're wearing the appropriate ear tip before you start rocking out.

Those wings, on the other hand, have always bothered me, but they're not an issue on the Beats Fit Pro, much to my amazement. They also played a crucial role in keeping the buds in place.

The Beats Fit Pro earphones are sweat and water resistant, so they'll last a long time. So, even if you're a prodigious sweater like me, you can work out without worrying about shortening them.

What do you think of them?

I've tried Beats' other true wireless earbuds, the Beats Studio Buds, as well as the AirPods Pro, and the Beats Fit Pro sounds more like Apple's product than Beats' own. That makes sense, given that Beats included all of Apple's earbuds' finest features. Improved active noise cancellation and transparency mode, adaptive EQ, spatial audio, and new sound drivers are among the new features.

In terms of sound quality, it's difficult to notice the difference between the Beats Fit Pro and the AirPods Pro. Both have good bass and are able to strike high notes with ease.

Apple's H1 chip is also included in the Beats Fit Pro headphones, allowing customers to utilize "Hey, Siri" to make hands-free calls or change tracks. Just like Apple's AirPods, you can instantly switch the buds between your iCloud-connected devices.

Android users don't receive those capabilities, but they do get one-touch setup through the Beats app, which they must download separately, as well as the ability to switch between active-noise cancellation and transparency modes and the opportunity to customize the physical button on the Beats Fit Pro.

That button, incidentally, is the one design aspect I wish Beats had changed. It's unusual to have to interrupt music by pressing on something in your ear. It's also just unsettling. Instead, I utilize the Spotify app to halt my music.

In one area, the Beats Fit Pro outperformed Apple's AirPods Pro: battery life. The active-noise canceling earbuds are rated for six hours of listening time, while the charging case is certified for an additional 27 hours of charging time. The AirPods Pro have a battery life of 4.5 hours with active noise cancellation, while the case has a charge time of 24 hours.

Even still, the Beats Fit Pro's charging case is significantly larger than the AirPods Pro's, making it difficult to carry in smaller pockets. Wireless charging is also absent from the Beats Fit Pro. If that's a must-have, go somewhere else.

Should you purchase them?

My AirPods Pro are fantastic. They have a terrific sound, are comfortable to wear, and are water and perspiration resistant. The issue is, for $49 less, you can get the Beats Fit Pro earphones with the same fantastic features. The Beats Fit Pro are a terrific option if you're an Apple or Android user looking for active-noise canceling earbuds at a reasonable price.
